tom_ridingHope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year. As you are reading this edition of our Hogwash our 2016 officers are settling in and preparing for the year. We, as a Chapter, had a great year as our Chapter turned 30! We had great rides, functions as well as lots of social gatherings.

The 2016 calendar is being laid out with our larger events as well meshing with Atlanta HarleyDavidson events. For those that are involved in chapter events, you know the rewards of having a great time and being with others that share the passion for Harley-Davidson and the open road. For the new members, or those that that haven’t been around as much, what are you waiting for? Come to events and get to know some of the other members. I’m sure that you will enjoy the time you spend.

Our Atlanta Chapter HOG Christmas party was a great success this year! There were several awards given out, lots of nice door prizes given away, a fun “Lightning” trivia game played out, and we were able to dance the night away to the tunes from Harold and Debbie Leverette!

The “Heart of the Rider” award was presented to Denise and Jesse Harris, the “Ride of the Year” was presented to Dee Pearson for his ride to the LTCPL Skip Wells Memorial ride, male and female members with most participation was presented to Denise and Jesse Harris, Volunteer winner of the “Major Award” was Barbara Laymon, and the Road Captain “Major Award” winner was Randy King (the Major Award this year was a Harley-Davidson leather jacket). We had a “Grand Door prize” donated by Chuck Watwood of Law Bike (Flat Screen LCD TV) that was won by Cindy Berry. Winners of the dessert contest were Pat Still (best Christmas theme), Jennifer Lyons (best tasting), and April Jensen/ Reberto Ochoa (best Harley-Davidson theme). The trivia game was won by the Rick Parker team.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates as well as the calendar on our website. Anyone that would like to get more involved, suggest rides or destinations, let one of the road captains or any of our officers know as we are always looking for additional ideas and input to make our chapter better.

I have said it many times and very sure that I will continue to say it, THE ATLANTA HOG CHAPTER IS THE BEST CHAPTER IN GEORGIA!

For now, Ride Safe and Have Fun!
